Rintaro Tsumugi attends Chidori, a boys’ high school with a poor reputation. Tall, with bleached hair and an intimidating appearance, he is actually quiet and considerate. While helping at his family’s bakery, he meets Kaoruko Waguri, a cheerful girl who shows no prejudice toward him. Rintaro soon discovers, however, that she attends Kikyo, a prestigious girls’ school located next to Chidori, whose students have a deep rivalry with the boys from his school. Despite this divide, Rintaro and Kaoruko gradually grow closer and learn to look beyond appearances, social differences, and the prejudices separating their two worlds.
