A turtle, a raven, a hare, an ant, a lion, and even a milk pot: so many familiar figures that populate our imagination, among many others, regularly reappear, and that we all owe to the fabulous talent of Monsieur de La Fontaine. He is the prince of poets, who has been able to transform a somewhat rigid tradition, that of fable, into an exceptional art, which charms the ear while rejoicing the spirit, awakens the woods, animates the animals and manages to touch all men.

Morality: it would be wrong not to go back to reading the Fables, which delight children and enchant adults! Their impertinent relevance is undoubtedly at the origin of their uninterrupted success: whether they are recited, as at school, whether they are repeated for themselves only or "put in the mouth", as the actor Fabrice Luchini did with obvious happiness, we do not resist the small pleasure of a fable.
