In late-1980s San Francisco, Marcus Lopez Arguello, a homeless teenager scarred by a violent childhood, is recruited into King’s Dominion, a secret school where the children of criminals and powerful families are trained to become assassins. Thrown into a world ruled by hierarchy, manipulation, and brutality, Marcus must survive both the classes and the rivalries between students. He grows close to Saya, Maria, and several other young people with equally dangerous backgrounds. Between missions, power struggles, and personal choices, Marcus tries to preserve his identity in an environment designed to turn its students into weapons.
