The young Lucky Luke, who was called at the time Kid Lucky, explores the Far West with Old Timer, an old gold researcher, set out to discover the spin of the century. Their lives are rhythmic by encounters with alcoholic Indians, the mustard inhalations of Old Timer, and the first attempts of Kid with a gun, hidden from his friend. This quiet and monotonous life is broken when one of the Indians takes Kid, and takes him back to the camp. Finally... Stopped for the kid, because Old Timer doesn't even notice his disappearance! Big Mocassin, the squaw of the kid-a-child, then undertakes to make Kid, an Indian child... But the future Lucky Luke doesn't hear him with that ear!!!
