We find Spirou, Fantasio and Spip in Edo, capital of the Land of the Levant Sun, from 1603 to 1864. Time Paradox? Time travel? Nothing of all this: our three friends are simply invited to the prestigious inauguration of Edo-Resort, a huge amusement park that faithfully reconstructs the life of medieval Japan. But Spirou and his companions are not there for pleasure. They came to the Far East at the request of their friend magician, Itoh Kata, who entrusted them with a special mission: to recover two children with amazing paranormal powers who are held by Mangakana, a formidable gangster with troubled real estate ambitions. A chase will lead our three heroes of Akihabara, the electronic quarter, in Giza, that of the shows, passing through Shinjuku, the territory of the formidable yakuza, for a particularly turbulent guided tour.
