In the distant future, a twenty-thousand-year-old prophecy foretells the birth of five children whose powers could reshape the universe. The Terran Alliance, the Amazons, and the Dakoids each seek to find them in order to control the force awakening within them. Caught in the middle of this struggle, space sniper Dragan Preko, his companion Skullface, the Amazon Taman Khâ, and the last of the Sorcerer Knights set out to locate the children. As the five begin to sense the mysterious bond connecting them, political rivalries, interstellar wars, and ancient beliefs converge around the Kookaburra, a force whose awakening could determine the fate of the universe.
