The Etruscans: ancient people established in Etruria, currently Tuscany (North of Italy), one of the most important civilizations (7th B.C.) founder of the city of Rome. Very soon they developed trade on the sea as on land competing with the Greeks and Carthage, but driven out of Rome in 509 B.C. defeated by the Greeks, repulsed from Campania by the Samnites and from Northern Italy by the Gauls, they were submitted by the Romans in 350 B.C.
