Barrington Levy is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer who became one of the leading voices of the Jamaican scene from the late 1970s onward. Known for his high-pitched voice and highly melodic phrasing, he developed a style blending roots reggae, rub-a-dub and dancehall, helping bridge traditional reggae and the newer forms of the genre that emerged in the 1980s. With songs such as Here I Come, Under Mi Sensi and Murderer, Barrington Levy became one of the most influential singers in Jamaican reggae and dancehall.
