Tenshinhan defeats and disqualifies Taopaipai (returned as a cyborg) who tries to kill him. Goku beats Chi-Chi (who forces him to accept the marriage he promised as a child). Kuririn gives up against Piccolo Jr. Yamcha loses to Shen (who is actually Kami possessing a human). In the semi-finals, Goku beats Tenshinhan (despite the technique of dividing into 4, which also divides power). In the other semi-final, Kami faces Piccolo Jr. (his evil side).
