Ciel Phantomhive is the heir to a great family of the English nobility. The empire that deals in toys and confectionery, among other things, rests on the shoulders of this young boy, who is very beautiful, intelligent, and mature for his age.
Ciel is also one of the Queen's Watchdogs, members of the gentry who work for the government to eradicate crime in the country. This will inevitably place him in rather perilous situations.
Ciel lives alone in a large manor. Well, not really alone, since Sebastian, his butler, always in his impeccably styled black livery, who runs the house, accompanies Ciel everywhere and serves as a kind of bodyguard. Sebastian must also take care of May Linn, the maid, and Finnian, the gardener, both of whom are rather eccentric. In terms of scholarship, education, and culinary arts, there is nothing to criticize; Sebastian is perfect. But one should not be fooled by his good manners, as gangsters threatening his young master's life have, among other things, discovered his true nature... Did Ciel sign a pact with the Devil...?!
