In District 12, Haymitch Abernathy tries not to think too much about the terrible draw. He is focused on surviving himself and the one he loves.
So, when destiny designates him as tribute, his world collapses.
Forced to leave everything behind, he is taken to the Capitol with three other members of his district: a friend he considers a sister, a compulsive gambler, and the most pretentious girl in town.
As the Games are about to begin, Haymitch realizes that the events are rigged and that he has no chance. Yet something inside him pushes him to fight... so that this fight goes beyond the borders of the mortal arena.
