Synopsis

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

Between the events of The Seven Deadly Sins and Four Knights of the Apocalypse, Tristan, the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth, discovers a mysterious artifact known as the Book of Stars together with Tioreh. Activating it causes different eras and realities to collide, bringing locations, creatures and characters into Britannia that should never have existed at the same time. Tristan then begins a journey across the kingdom to understand the origin of the phenomenon, reunite with his allies and restore order to a world where past, present and future are beginning to overlap.

Overview

Presentation

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is an open-world Action RPG featuring an original story set between The Seven Deadly Sins and Four Knights of the Apocalypse. The player mainly follows Tristan, the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth, accompanied notably by Tioreh, the daughter of King and Diane.

The story begins with the discovery of the Book of Stars, an artifact capable of connecting different timelines. Its activation disrupts Britannia: forgotten regions reappear, several eras collide and characters from different periods can now meet.

Progression is built around freely exploring Britannia. Cities, forests, lakes, ruins, caves and hidden dungeons can be explored outside the main quests, with many side activities such as fishing, cooking, resource gathering and puzzle solving.

Certain monsters encountered in the world can also be captured and used as mounts, making travel easier while adding a collection element to exploration.

Combat takes place in real time with a team of four characters. The player can instantly switch from one to another in order to adapt to enemies, elements or the abilities required in a given situation.

Each hero has their own skills, but can also master multiple weapon types. By improving proficiency, a character can equip up to three different categories, each changing their attacks, skills and sometimes even their elemental focus.

Tristan, for example, naturally uses dual blades, but can also fight with other, heavier weapons. This system allows the same character to fulfill several roles depending on the chosen equipment.

Team composition also takes combined attacks into account. Certain combinations of characters, weapons or abilities allow coordinated offensive moves involving several party members.

The game therefore combines team building with direct action: a group's strength depends as much on the heroes selected as on their weapons, synergies and the player's ability to switch characters at the right moment.

Alongside the main adventure, which can be played solo, several activities can be tackled in co-op, including dungeons and challenges where a group can include up to five players with the host.

Conclusion

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin uses Britannia as a true open world while building an original story around the consequences of the Book of Stars.

Real-time character switching, different weapon types and combined attacks place particular emphasis on team building without giving up direct action.

The collision of eras also makes it possible to bring together characters from different points in the saga and connect the world of The Seven Deadly Sins with Four Knights of the Apocalypse in an adventure distinct from previous adaptations.

Good to know

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin was developed by Netmarble F&C and published by Netmarble.

The game has been available in early access on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam since March 16, 2026.

Its global launch took place on March 23, 2026, alongside the release of the iOS and Android versions.

The title uses a free-to-play model with optional in-app purchases and requires an Internet connection.

The same account can be used to continue progression across console, PC and mobile on compatible platforms.

The main adventure can be played solo, while certain activities offer online co-op for up to five players, including the host.

The game operates as an evolving live service, with new stories, characters and activities added after launch. In August 2026, the arrival of Ban notably made it possible to reunite all seven members of the Seven Deadly Sins among the playable heroes.

These additions remain separate from the foundations of the original campaign.

This entry focuses on the main story, exploration of Britannia, team combat and the core systems of The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, without detailing every hero, summon or seasonal content release individually.
