Overview
Presentation
My Hero Ultra Rumble is a free-to-play battle royale based on My Hero Academia. Each match brings together 24 players divided into eight teams of three, with the goal of eliminating rival squads and becoming the last team standing.
The roster includes both Heroes and Villains, each with their own moves and Quirk Skills. Mobility, attack range, support options and the way a character engages in combat vary significantly depending on who is selected.
Each fighter belongs to one of five roles: Strike, Assault, Rapid, Technical or Support. These categories also provide a bonus to the entire team, respectively focused on attack power, defense, mobility, skill recovery or healing-item effectiveness.
Team composition therefore plays an important role. Combining different roles can create a versatile squad, while using several characters from the same category strengthens the corresponding team bonus.
At the start of a match, each team chooses its landing area before exploring the map. The combat zone gradually shrinks, forcing squads closer together and requiring them to adapt their movement.
Skill Cards are scattered throughout the environment. They notably allow players to improve their character's Quirk Skills during the match and are one of the main ways to temporarily increase combat effectiveness.
Players can also interact with civilians. Heroes can rescue them while Villains use a different interaction, with both approaches providing items that may help the team during battle.
When a teammate is knocked out, the match is not necessarily over for them. Revival Cards can allow their partners to bring them back, giving particular importance to keeping the squad alive as a group.
The Plus Ultra / Plus Chaos gauge also offers a comeback opportunity. Once filled, activating it notably restores the character's protection and resets the cooldowns of their Quirk Skills.
Beyond standard matches, the game has gradually added new maps, characters, combat styles, events and custom modes across its seasons.

My Hero Ultra Rumble translates the Quirks of My Hero Academia into a battle royale structure centered on cooperation between three characters.
The variety of roles gives each squad member a different function, while Skill Cards allow abilities to evolve directly during a match.
Civilian interactions, teammate revivals and each character's unique powers reinforce this team-focused approach: winning depends as much on the trio's synergy as on individual fighting ability.
