Towards the end of a 15th century full of violence in Japan, Miyamoto Usagi took part in numerous battles, eventually losing his lord and becoming a samurai without master, a rannin. While many of them became bandits or mercenaries, Usagi took the path of the warrior's pilgrimage, travelling the country in search of wisdom and justice. From struggles against the dark ambitions of Machiavellian men to fighting against supernatural beasts, Usagi's journey led him to face all sorts of encounters and dangers: a confrontation in a cemetery with inhuman creatures, a young boy ferruous of adventure, a village terrorized by a spider woman.
