Clark Kent is a young journalist traveling the world in search of his place and of the best way to use his extraordinary abilities. Returning to Metropolis, he decides to publicly embrace the identity of Superman while continuing his work at the Daily Planet. His arrival quickly attracts the attention of Lex Luthor, a former acquaintance who has become an ambitious scientist and industrialist and sees Superman as both a threat and an opportunity. As Clark tries to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage, his humanity, and his role as a protector, he must also face the fear and mistrust his presence inspires.
