Al Simmons is no longer, but Spawn's symbiote has found a new carrier: Jim Downing. Formerly known as "Patient 47", Jim woke up in a New York hospital, without any memory of his past life. Assisted by Sara, his nurse, and Mark, an opportunistic journalist, he seeks to understand the nature of the powers he has been developing since his awakening.
