Amoun's father perished fighting the gloomy spirits. Determined to pay him a final tribute, Amoun undertook a journey to join his remains, accompanied by his friends: Sukal, a disabled orphan; Osoj, victim of the abuse of his father-in-law; and Lomaé, haunted by his lack of trust. Together, they faced adversity and multiple trials during a journey to death.
