Pelisse accompanied by his animal the Dru and the knight Bragon, are at the center of this quest invented by Loisel and Le Tendre. A series became cult in the space of 4 volumes for a whole generation of readers.
After having stolen from high struggle the Ramor Conque to Shan-Tung, Bragon, Pélisse and the Unknown Mysterious (a providential rescuer who refuses to remove his mask and reveal his identity) go to the March of the Sails of Ecumus, domain of the Princess-Sorcercius Mara. The latter waits for them to recover the conque and tell them the purpose of their next mission: go read the runes buried in the bottom of the Temple of the Obligation because they alone reveal the name of the country where the Bird of Time is located. The Temple of the Obligation, the most dangerous place of all Akbar. No one dares venture there, not even the Jaisirs who have custody of it. Only a madman would have the daring to enter it with the hope of exiting alive. The Reticences of Bragon is added to the fact that he will have to endure during the journey the presence of Bodias, prince-sorcier of the Walk of the Milles Verts, the penitables, the penitentials of the Penitentisary Penitentis-Ber, the penitentis, the penitentis-res, the pentients will be the pentients of the pentients, the pentients, and the pentients, the pentients, the pentients, the pentients, the pentnts, the pentnts.
Four days! There are only four days left before the "night of the changing season" which will see the deliverance of the cursed god Ramor and the ruin of Akbar. Four days before arriving at the Finger of Heaven, huge rocky pition planted in the middle of the estuary of the Dol River, and the presumed hiding of the Bird of Time revealed to them by Fol de Dol, the formidable Master of the River. Between the companions of the quest and the Bird of Time another obstacle, of size. They must cross the landmark of the Rige. But who is the Rige? "The Rige knows only one duty! Only one law! The hunt! And anyone who crosses the borders of his domain is assured to pay for it with his blood!" . The appearance of the no less legendary knight Bragon is for this indefatigable hunter an extraordinary bounty: to be measured by the only person on Akbar who can pretend without lying to be his equal. He will therefore leave them, he and his companions Pélisse and the Mysterious Unreparable Quest, obverseness is not to pass through the territory of the unreamable, but only the pit of a possible.

On the occasion of the publication of the book dedicated to the Quest of the Bird of Time, the album "L'Ami Javin" benefits from a reprint that takes into account the chronological order of the history of the Quest of the Bird of Time. Indeed, the authors have established a long-term vision of this superb saga which, in addition to the central cycle including the four albums already published (Conque de Ramor, Temple de l'Obli, Rige and egg of Darkness) is enriched by a chronological cycle taking place before the history of La Quête (already begun with the Friend Javin) and a cycle taking place after the history of the Quest. The Friend Javin is therefore renumbered Volume 1 and no longer 5 and has the mention "before the quest" on the cover.
On Akbar's land, several murders of children of Princes Sorcerers intangle the relative quietness of the region. Disturbing detail, each victim bears a sign on his body: would the mysterious cult of the Order of Signs be responsible for these assassinations? For his part, since Javin's death, Bragon has hardened himself to the contact of Frange who has taught him how to handle arms. On the advice of the latter, Bragon decides to leave the city of Vaguamare in order to participate in the fights that will allow him to fight even more. And, perhaps, to attract the attention of the formidable Rige even if some say that this character never existed and that it would be only a legend. It is also for him a way to get away from the troubling Princess Mara of which he is secretly in love. But how, he, a rottor, could seduce a lady of his rank? Worry of events, Mara's father thinks that the Order of Signs prepares for a precious conspiration and decides to send out a grudge a god who could not even the darker to the god.
