Gaw'yn and Dyfeline fled Scarande on board a ship. The beautiful, collapsed, did not forgive the young black elf for the massacre of her family, of which she was the only survivor. Attacked by a fleet of northern barbarians commanded by a black half-elf, they were trapped. If they did not die shredded, they would serve to enlarge the ranks of the army of gules which she constituted for Lah'sa the necromancer and which had to conquer the empires of South. While Dyfeline was bitten by a guile, Gaw'yn concluded a pact that would allow him to remain alive but above all to try to heal Dyfeline from the evil that consumed her.
