The brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric suffered a tragic loss after trying to have a forbidden alchemy to bring back their dead mother. Edward lost a leg and arm, while Alphonse's body was completely taken away. To save his brother, Edward linked the soul of Alphonse to a armor. The two brothers were now looking for the philosopheral stone to restore their bodies. Edward became a state alchemist and they had to face the threats of Scar, a vengeful warrior, and the Homunculi, mysterious enemies linked to the philosopheral stone. Over the course of the season, they discovered deeper mysteries about the stone and the dark forces that controlled it, while their journey tested their moral ties and convictions.
