With Gotham believing her dead, Selina Kyle uses her disappearance as an opportunity to reconsider her life as a thief and the role she truly wants to play in the city. When she takes up the Catwoman identity again, she settles in the East End, a poor and violent neighborhood that she gradually decides to protect. With help from Holly Robinson and detective Slam Bradley, Selina investigates murders, confronts traffickers and criminals, and becomes a kind of protector for people Gotham has abandoned. Between burglaries, street-level justice, and personal conflicts, she tries to reconcile her nature as a thief with a growing desire to help those the city has forgotten.
