When Gotham becomes the target of a military force inspired by Batman’s methods, Bruce Wayne realizes that he can no longer protect the city alone. Together with Batwoman, he assembles a team made up of Red Robin, Spoiler, Orphan, and Clayface in order to train a new generation of vigilantes capable of working together. But enemies ranging from the Colony and the Victim Syndicate to the League of Shadows quickly exploit their weaknesses and differences. Between training, internal conflict, and increasingly personal threats, the team must learn to become a true family while deciding how far they are willing to go to defend Gotham.

Issue 1
Batwoman, Red Robin, Spoiler, Orphan, Gueule d'Argile... These are the new vigilantes Batman recruited to protect Gotham from a completely new threat. Will they be able to agree in time before the cursed city falls between the claws of an underground army? And will Bruce Wayne be able to reconcile with his mother's family, the Kanes? BATMAN - DETECTIVE COMICS presents the brand new team of Gotham defenders! Right out of the BATMAN ETERNAL and BATMAN & ROBIN ETERNAL series, the members of this disparate group are animated by the screenwriter of these two sagas, James TYNION IV (BATMAN), and benefit from the realistic, precise and percusing feature of Eddy BARROWS (NIGHTWING), for adventures at the heart of the mystery of the DC Rebirth Universe!
Issue 2
To deal with the many threats that Gotham faces, Batman can now count on a new team of allies. Driven by Batwoman – Bruce Wayne's cousin –, Spoiler, Clay Gueule and Orphan chain the enemies. But in the course of their crusade, there may be civilian casualties, and the vigilantes will now have to bear the consequences, as the Victims Union intends to make them pay.
Issue 3
For years, the Shadow League has been acting in secret to take control of Gotham. The team led by Batman and Batwoman will have to face what has been so far a grim rumor. But in the midst of this merciless struggle, the secret of Orphan's origins threatens the stability of the group.
Issue 4
In forming a team, Batman was not only about protecting Gotham, but also about protecting his allies from targeted attacks. But being part of a team has not only good sides for its members, especially when the ghosts of their past suddenly reappear... And the time is serious, since the Bat-Family is in the line of sight of the Order of St. Dumas, a group that formed Azrael and has a new assassin, an artificial intelligence called Ascalon. To save his friends, Batman will have to use the most powerful of magic artifacts: the Machine of God. But will it be enough to defeat Ascalon?
Issue 5
Tim Drake is alive, but where is he? Locked in a mysterious prison out of time, Red Robin will have to make a choice and manage to escape his mysterious abductor. Spoiler, for his part, continues his quest for revenge donations on the streets of Gotham. And the enigmatic Anarky is determined to help him.
Issue 6
Red Robin is back at last! And now that he's back in his place alongside Spoiler and his allies, he's fighting crime again. But Batman's and Bat-Family's success has a price, because the Victims Union is trying to make them pay. Their crazy ultimatum has just fallen: if Batman doesn't reveal his identity live on television, the criminals of Arkham's Asylum will be dropped on the city.
Issue 7
Batwoman committed the unthinkable by taking the lead of the Colony. In response, the Black Knight is organizing a crisis meeting with the members of the Bat-Family to judge it and decide what action to take following its sedition. But time is running out, because Ulysses Armstrong has a plan that Batwoman herself ignores and this latter could well cause the loss of Gotham all!
